After many hours of traveling through canadia country i heard the legend of the mighty Pine Martin from a hermit living in southern Ottawa.
Dad 12:31 pm on March 17, 2009 Permalink
Carl is VERY close. However, it is not a Pine Martin (Martes martes).
Good guess, Nick.

nick.huelsman 1:57 pm on March 18, 2009 Permalink
last guess for me: a fisher (Martes pennanti)
Dad 2:05 pm on March 18, 2009 Permalink
Clang! Clang! Clang! …We have a winnah! This is indeed a Martes pennanti. Pic was taken by a trail cam in Minnesooota.
The Fisher is the second largest member of the Marten family. The Pine Marten is smaller in size. The Marten family includes mink, weasel, etc. The Fisher prefers the forrest and is well suited to arborial life.
Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, ‘press on’ has solved, and always will solve, the problems of the human race. -Calvin Coolidge
Dad 2:08 pm on March 18, 2009 Permalink
Coolidge was not much of a theologian, however.
nick.huelsman 3:11 pm on March 18, 2009 Permalink
