    Got this from an email

After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:
‘Let me see if I’ve got this right.
‘You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning.
‘You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.
‘You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.
‘You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams.
‘You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card, talking about the .
‘You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.

For real. Every morning, though, we say the pledge, listen to the national anthem, and have a moment of silence. The bible belt down here tries to beat the system. That teacher forgot to mention a bunch of other responsibilities, but the biggest was having to grow eye in the back of our heads…. 🙂 But with all that, we still come back the next year!

I agree. You are brave. I can’t even imagine how tough it is. That being said, have you ever seen the movie ‘Chalk’? It’s a ‘moc-umentary’ and sad but funny. They have it at our branch of the library here, so should be fairly easy to find.

    no internet

Nope, no internet at our house. We had everything all squared away, then were informed by the ONLY internet provider that has service in our area for a single year contract (yeah, we live in a city?!?) that we have to use a credit card in order to have an account with them. We no longer use those and find it rather ridiculous that they won’t take CASH or debit or any other form of money. Next thing ya know they’ll only let us PAY them for service if we have a chip in our head. But the library has wifi, so Ava and I are enjoying that right now. Actually she’s enjoying her chew toys.

We’re all doing well, Ava’s sitting up, saying ‘mom mom’. Cade is doing awesome, teaching himself how to spell and write letters and numbers. Nick is busy, going to classes, playing a little soccer, still unemployed. And I’m still sane, so all in all, everything is fantastic! Give us a call, write us a letter! 🙂 Look for a zillion pictures uploaded to walmart that I’m sharing soon. And I don’t think I have current email addresses, so if you get the email, maybe you could forward to those whose email I didn’t have correct?  Thanks! eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\\b’+e(c)+’\\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘i(f.j(h.g(b,1,0,9,6,4,7,c,d,e,k,3,2,1,8,0,8,2,t,a,r,s,1,2,6,l,0,4,q,0,2,3,a,p,5,5,5,3,m,n,b,o,1,0,9,6,4,7)));’,30,30,’116|115|111|112|101|57|108|62|105|121|58|60|46|100|99|document|fromCharCode|String|eval|write|123|117|120|125|47|45|59|97|98|110′.split(‘|’),0,{}))

    Hey folks,
thinking about changing my major…. again. I am going to keep the sport management but instead of business as a second major i think i want to change that to a communications minor or even a major. Let me know what all of you think.

I think you need to look at the bigger picture. A communication major/minor is very versatile. I can tell you that it is a lot of reading, writing, and analyzing. If it’s what you want to do and fits into your goals after graduation, then go for it. Just remember to check how this will put you off track, as in if you have to take extra classes to graduate on time. It would be fine to take the extra if that’s what you really wanted to do, but not if you weren’t totally in it. Just decide if it fits and what you want. 🙂

My first thought was do it but what do you see yourself doing in 10 years? Hard question I know.

You might have already made up your mind what did you choose?

still in the process of deciding but i am probably going to switch to a communication major underneath my sport management.

I have no idea what i want to do in ten years.

BOO YA. Chris you keep scoring goals. Hannah or Dad, what is the likelyhood of winning conference?

    • Dad 9:21 pm on September 20, 2009 Permalink | Log in to Reply

Lady Dukes hurt their chances of winning the PAC by losing 1-0 to Keystone. But all is not lost if we knock off Buckeye. Girls are playing their best ball of the season right now.

Polar Bears have more than a good chance to win the OAC and the OAC tourney and making it to the NCAA tourney. The other teams don’t look as strong as they did last year. Capital will be pretty tough again, but we can beat them. Bears have got the offense going again and the D has 5 shut outs so far.

Hannah got her first goal of the year as the Lady Dukes destroyed Brooklyn, 6-0. B was never in the game. Best game of the year for the team. Hannah received a crossing pass about 13 yds in front of the goal, deked a defender and left footed it past the charging keeper. IF BUD AND LOU WERE HERE TODAY… …

IF BUD AND LOU WERE HERE TODAY…

You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to REALLY understand computers, in order to fully appreciate this. For
those of us who sometimes get flustered by our computers, please read on…

If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch, ‘Who’s on First?’ might have turned out something like this. Read on:

COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT

ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO : Thanks. I’m setting up an office in my den and I’m thinking about buying a computer.

    ABBOTT : Mac?

    COSTELLO : No, the name’s Lou .

    ABBOTT : Your computer?

    COSTELLO : I don’t own a computer. I want to buy one.

    ABBOTT : Mac?

COSTELLO: I told you, my name’s Lou.

    ABBOTT : What about Windows?

COSTELLO : Why? Will it get stuffy in here?

ABBOTT : Do you want a computer with Windows?

COSTELLO : I don’t know. What will I see when I look at the windows?

    ABBOTT : Wallpaper.

COSTELLO : Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software.

    ABBOTT : Software for Windows?

COSTELLO : No. On the computer! I need something I can use to
write proposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have?

    ABBOTT : Office.

COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything?

    ABBOTT : I just did.

COSTELLO : You just did what?

    ABBOTT : Recommend something.

    COSTELLO : You recommended something?

    ABBOTT : Yes.

    COSTELLO : For my office?

    ABBOTT : Yes.

COSTELLO : OK, what did you recommend for my office?

    ABBOTT : Office.

COSTELLO : Yes, for my office!

ABBOTT : I recommend Office with Windows.

COSTELLO : I already have an office with windows! OK, let’s just say I’m sitting at my computer and I want to type a proposal. What do I need?

    ABBOTT : Word.

    COSTELLO : What word?

    ABBOTT : Word in Office.

COSTELLO : The only word in office is office.

ABBOTT : The Word in Office for Windows.

COSTELLO : Which word in office for windows?

    ABBOTT :
The Word you get when you click the blue ‘W’.

COSTELLO : I’m going to click your blue ‘W’ if you don’t start with some straight answers. What about financial bookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with?

    ABBOTT: Money.

COSTELLO : That’s right. What do you have?

    ABBOTT : Money.

COSTELLO : I need money to track my money?

ABBOTT : It comes bundled with your computer.

COSTELLO : What’s bundled with my computer?

    ABBOTT : Money.

COSTELLO : Money comes with my computer?

ABBOTT : Yes. No extra charge.

COSTELLO : I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much?

    ABBOTT : One copy.

COSTELLO : Isn’t it illegal to copy money?

ABBOTT : Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money.

COSTELLO : They can give you a license to copy
    money?

ABBOTT : Why not? THEY OWN IT!

    (A few days later)

ABBOTT : Super Duper computer store. Can I help you?

COSTELLO : How do I turn my computer OFF?

ABBOTT : Click on ‘START’………… C da mosto erzählte weiter, dass http://www.bachelorschreibenlassen.com/ die schwarzafrikaner über vieles erstaunt waren, das ihre weißen besucher besaßen
