The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Seal
Recently I may have told you that I was working on the seal for The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Well it has been finished for a month or so but we have been waiting for the right moment to unveil it. Today we made announcements around the school and to the alumni. Here she is.

I worked with the president and academic affairs office to find the right style and elements. Then I created a number of sketches and rework and reworked until we had this basic design. Once I had the design, or general direction, worked out I contacted fellow alumn Michael Kuzin to do the final rendering of the seal. He basically redrew the whole thing to give it the polished look that it has. I’ll do a future post about my design process and show some of the initial sketches and designs.
We also had the seal made into a medallion that represents the presidential office.
