Norm, I’m sure there was audio to go with this footage.
Our computer speakers do not work. Can you tell me or someone more computer savvy in the house how to fix this?

    • Norm 5:35 pm on January 6, 2011 Permalink | Reply

There wasn’t really any audio. I uploaded it straight from my phone. You may need to plug the speakers back in to the back of the computer. I unplugged it to use with my computer over Christmas and might have forgotten to put it back.

    Night Before Christmas

I’ve been trying to get this to work exactly as I want on our site for a few days but just am not able to makeit happen for some reason. Maybe I’ll try again when I get back to Pittsburgh. For now you can watch this video on Blip, sideways.

Also I know this looks a little scary with red and black but that is the way iPhone recorded the low light.

    Broken Spoon

This post is meant to aggravate mom more than anything. Why because she said looking at this broken spoon aggravates her. Someone left it out for the dogs to chew. We determined that while this spoon came from great grandma’s kitchen, it wasn’t one carved by great grandpa. Mom pulled another spoon out of drawer and wagged it at me as though I were the one responsible for the chewed item. After inspection I determined that this other spoon is indeed hand carved.

Moral of the story don’t let you wooden spoons unattended. Dad you should know what Carl will do with them when they are unattended.

So mom needs a new wooden spoon. Preferably hand carved.

    ::afterthought::

Nick and Joy, you might not want to let Carl around you children if you want the threat of the spoon to remain an enforcer. He may spill the beans about how to deal with such an item.

    My view

Shot out my window while packing to come home.

Yep, two churches. (except oddly the camera reversed the image, I suppose I’m the only one who would know that)

There is a river in between the hills.

Talked to Judy last night and she is pumped about us coming. She says all her neighbors and friends are looking forward to meeting us!! Sadly, Michael has to leave on Tues., so we won’t see him. Judy says everyone needs to bring a sleeping bag. We need to work on that one.

    Moving on up

Today I had my annual review, and it went well. I recieved a promotion to “Brand Coordinator”. It’s basically the same thing as a brand manager or product manager, but my boss didn’t want to give me complete control over our prducts… at least not yet.

I will still be doing some graphic design and I will be in charge of making sure all communications and messages are cohesive. that means how the sales team speaks about our product, when client services answers the telephone, the advertising is consistent with other collateral, etc…

It’s exciting and I can’t wait for the new year to get started!

Congratulations!!! And to think you started out as a lowly intern!! Way to go! A good Christmas present!
See you soon at Grandma’s and we’ll celebrate in person.

Aw right!!! WTG! We’re so proud of you son!

      Go Browns!

    • tommy 4:32 pm on December 22, 2010 Permalink | Reply

You go Carl!! So, I was thinking… with your recent promotion I should send you my newly updated Christmas wish list to celebrate!! :) I’d like a Porsche, a back-hoe, a house (nothing huge, just 2,500 to 5,000 sq. ft.), a swimming pool, a condo at the beach, a mountain getaway, a bigger diamond ring for Lucille (it was her idea, she wants sooo much), a set of snow skis (and a trip to Colorado to go with them), a new bowling ball and about 20 lessons or so from a bowling pro – I’ve got this guy I want to beat bowling and I think that’s about it. With all those wishes put aside, CONgraTS!! Great jerb! Prima! Ausgezeichnet! You the man! See you next week!!

    • carl 1:26 pm on December 23, 2010 Permalink | Reply

      Thank you.
Tommy, I don’t know if I can get all of those things, but i might be able to get you a mountainside/ Oceanview house with a four lane bowling alley inside the three car garage in East Oahu. It’s equipped with a zip line and water slide straight to the beach which has a pool inside a vegetable garden. Let me know if that is feasible.

    • Norm 3:01 pm on December 23, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Tommy, we all know Lucille likes expensive things.

Carl, congrats. Despite all the things I’ve done I’ve never been promoted. Way to go.

Today picked up a Pontiac Montana mini van from Lee-Shubert. Great shape. Zoom, zoom!

    • Norm 2:16 pm on December 21, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Sweet. So that means we get to cram together for the long trip to Iowa. Or does this mean the for Christmas we each get a piece of the old van.

    • dale 2:39 pm on December 21, 2010 Permalink | Reply

lol, I’m keeping the old van. Gotta have something to throw bloody turkeys and deer in.

The Montana is a 7 passenger. Back seat is kinda tight for 3, but we can put Hannah in the hatch!

      What is the year?

    • dale 8:43 pm on December 21, 2010 Permalink | Reply

2001. A cream puff for that year. Dark brown -technically called “Smokey Caramel Metallic.”

    • Mom 3:13 pm on December 22, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Hannah And I think “Smokey Caramel” sounds gross, so we have changed the color to “Mocha Caramel”.
It is a really nice van. We will be comfortable driving to Iowa. I do need to fit all the grand kids presents in though!!

    Speaking of social networking.

Let me know if you have any technical needs. Leave a comment or make a list and I’ll see what I can do when we are all together this Christmas. Joy I can fix your avatar issue, etc.

If you have something more complicated you want to talk about let me know and I can be prepared.
