    Heard this call last night in the dark. Found out it was a screech owl. Weird noise for an owl!

      I thought you might have come across the headless horseman or maybe the black stallion from darby o’gill and the little people. Glad it was just an owl.

        Well, I thought it might be a horse! Sounds like a horse whinny. Then I wondered if deer whinny. I asked my turkey buds and one said it was an eastern screech. I checked, and shore ’nuff.

        Glad I found out what it was. Otherwise I might get spooked out in the woods in the dark and start looking for Darby O’Gill’s little people!

    Had fun updating the masthead. Got a lot of folks in there.

    The wedding provided a lot of good photos. Which I uploaded about 100 of my wedding photos to Facebook this weekend.

    Tags: Attacked by a woodchuck today   

    Early this evening I was sitting against a tree with one knee up and the other leg stretched out on the ground. Saw a woodchuck headed my way. Not wanting to waste a Heavy Shot on it ($3 a shell), I just watched. The thing stopped 6-7 feet from me. Looked at the sole of my boot, raised it’s head, opened it’s mouth and bared it’s ugly yellow choppers….and charged my foot! I kicked it in the head and it ran off.

    Gives me the creeps just thinking about it… Imagine explaining that to the emergency room doctor. Makes me appreciate the movie “Caddyshack.”
