Family Treasures – Aimee Playing Violin
When was home over the summer I helped clean out Grandma Huelsman’s house. I found this cassette tape of Aimee and Janni Toomes playing the piano and violin. I listened to it once when we found it and wanted to digitize the performance to share and preserve.
Pictures of the the writing on the cassette and sleeve indicate the date was October 1997. Which reads:
Concert in G minor – Bruch
Aimee Toomes – violin
Janni Toomes – pianoGavotte from E major Partita – J.S. Bach

I did my best to get a clean capture of the audio, which comes in loud and peaks a lot. I think that this is how it was captured and blew out the microphone when originally recorded. I don’t know what Grandma and Grandpa Huelsman used to record the piece so that is my best guess. If anyone has anything to add I’d be interested to know more.
I remember when Aimee was in Ohio auditioning for a college in the Cleveland area. Aimee, Janni, grandma, and grandpa visited us in Wellington where Amiee preformed a Bach piece (probably the same one here). So I’m assuming this is from the same trip.
