Norm, how do you change a pic/video so that I can upload it? It is telling me that it is too large.
I’m not sure. Can you send it to me and I can resize it. Go to yousendit.com if it is too big for email. Flickr might also have resizing tools. You can always google it. The reason I don’t have a good answer is because I just don’t know what the free tools are for this. I use photoshop.
Update from the Schauer residence. It’s been a crazy winter here so far. I saw what looked like a cherry tree that had pink flowers growing on it. Nature is all confused with the 60 degree weather. A man at church said that since it was thundering during the winter season, it means we will have snow. I don’t know about that, but if it gets me a surprise day away from the kids, bring it on! Tommy and I have used this nice weather to our advantage. We have cleaned up the land quite a bit. Our burn pile is the biggest we have ever gotten it. We have gone through 4 chains on the chainsaw, even purchased a new chainsaw. Once Tommy gets the weed wacker working, we both will be equipped to do some real damage. (I stay away from the chainsaw.) Tommy has been able to put his lithium 19.5 volt power drill to use. Him and his dad brought his car port over from his old house. The county finally put in blacktop off of the highway so the beginning of our drive way looks like the beginning of a driveway. Besides the house/land stuff, Tommy and I stay pretty busy at our local gym. I have picked up zumba and spinning while Tommy lifts weights with one of his buddies. I did have a thought to make a talk show as Carl and Norm did, but we lack a good mic and computer knowledge to know what we are doing. We hope everyone is doing well and keeping warm!
and this
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
and you got yourself a podcast
Lucille, you want to make sure that you get a USB mic. Meaning you plug into your computer via USB port and not the 3′ mic jack (i think thats what it’s called). The reason is that with a USB mic you don’t need a mixer or power source. The mic jack needs power pushed to it and most computers don’t support that sort of setup. I found a cheap USB mic at staples and used that for a while. I don’t know what happened to it or I’d offer it.
And audacity is free.
Or here is another option. Make an account here http://www.talkshoe.com. And you can call in and record.
Also you might be able to use a microphone that is built into your computer. Boom. Options.
Can you tell Carl and I are a little nerdy about this.
Thanks for the update. That is a lot of chainsawing you guys are doing.
If you ever do want to record some audio I can send you an extra microphone. Or you can get a cheap one for $20. Then I’ll point you to a bunch of free software. No excuses.
Thanks Norm and Carl….uhhh…I will be looking into it…yeah. Also, it is Tommy’s birthday on Monday.
Watch out for the alligators.
It is looking more promising that we are coming tomorrow! I’m off to wrap (not rap) and pack.
Do the Huelsman rap.
My name’s Lucille and Im here to say
I wrap lots of presents every day.
I’m off to the north, with my Tommy so near,
In my sleigh full of toys and eight tiny reindeer.
Hey all,
News to report. I was just listening to Dad’s post about “Opening Day”. Well, I’m not sure when opeing day was, but I didn’t get my hunting license or tags. Today, though, I got one. Or should I say “it” got me. Yes, you may have guessed it, I have repeated history. I was thinking about my average. I know my average is way off of Chris and Dad’s but nonetheless, I have an average. It comes once every 10 years. The last time “it” got me, I was 16. Today, I’m 26. Yup, my average is 1 in every 10 years. Tommy and I have to decide upon a body shop to fix my old Ford. I hope they do a good job of picking out the hair from my left front bumper of the four legged Bambie beast that is no more. Do me a favor and remind me when I turn 36 that I’m due for another wretched doe to run into me.
Better your car than mine!! lol lol -just kidding.
Glad you’re OK. Dangerous stuff. We saw a live one tonight near the road coming home from the game. I drive 40 mph past Findlay S.P. this time of year.
oh no. What a bummer.
I was just telling Carl over the weekend that I generally don’t go over 40 miles and hour ever.
FYI: 20 days until the wedding! Yippee!
Oh, I forgot to tell you, that’s the day of Cade’s first soccer game…so, you know, I figured everyone would understand how important that is. Nick always tells me soccer comes before anything else. Kidding!
Yes, soccer even comes before turkey hunting!!!
Lucille so does this mean that we are going to have to drop your site on here and move it to Tommy’s family blog?
Reporting to you from Kelley’s Island Saturday leave day…If it were 15 years ago, the house would be a crazy jungle of a mess. Today, it’s more of a quiet jungle of a mess. All I hear are feet moving, water flowing from Frahnsis, and cars passing by our house. Estimated time of departure, 12 noon. Realistic time of departure 2. Off to shower then pack the car.
Upstairs, the flooring and walls are in now. You all will have to see it in person!
Come early for the wedding to check it out!
House is looking wonderful. Do you have a spare room? I will be looking for a place to live in December haha.
We have 2 spare rooms. Come on down!! No, seriously, come!!
Get him a job while you’re at it! lol
Some pics of the inside. Obviously still under construction.
The bathroom

The living room and dining room. (kitchen to the right)

Kitchen

Stairs to 2nd flood, hallway on right leads to laundry, 2 bathrooms, and 2nd bath.
I mean 2 bedrooms…
That looks amazing! What is upstairs?
Right now just a big unfinished room. Saved $$ if we finished it ourselves later. We are currently planning on a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and possibly a family room. I’ll post a pic of what it looks like. We have the floor, windows and outside walls in now.
Looks great! It’s going to be beautiful!
Can we slide down the bannister?
I have already thought of that, but it’s really short so doubtful.
Dad, this will answer your question about the foundation.
This is before the straps were connected to the house.

Lucille, your audio is way better than Chris’s. Great job. And I can’t believe you beat Carl and I to the punch. By the way I think you called my google voice number and not my actual cell phone so there was very little chance I would have answered.

Thanks Norm for uploading this for me. The pic looks great too. I dont know what the words suggest.
And yeah, i must have called google number. Wink wink. What is a google number anyway?
chris 8:45 pm on May 8, 2012 Permalink |
What the? Man I thought I was gonna be first on the call list. Norm, you’re the first loser, google number or not. Nick and seal are farmers. Stop talking about corn. No I’m not running in the KI race. Happy birthday in a couple weeks. You are old. Those were just a couple of my thoughts throughout the talk. Thanks for the update and I can’t wait to see you in June.

Wow, great stuff Lucille! I’ll find out about fire ants. Yes, I’ve been bit by those things in FL.
Keep that corn talk flowing!

Fire ants always lose to a giant pot of boiling water. Or you could always burn them out. fight fire with fire i always say. You have to realize that you are at war, and the thing about a war is that there is more than one battle. Kill those buggers until they’re dead.
i dont know about KI 5k. If i can find someone to ride with me the weekend of the 10th to split gas i will go. time to start training i guess.
